Diesel could move +₱3.99–₱4.00/L next week
If it pushes through: Tuesday 6:00 AM. Wait for Monday's confirmation.
| Fuel | Change per litre | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Diesel | +₱3.99–₱4.00/L | Estimate only |
| Gasoline | +₱2.75–₱4.00/L | Estimate only |
| Kerosene | +₱4.00/L | Estimate only |
One thing worth being precise about: these are adjustments, not pump prices. Philippine oil companies announce a per-litre change, and the absolute price you pay still varies by brand, by city and by whether the station is on a highway. The change is what is uniform, and the change is what makes the news.
Cumulative movement since the first adjustment of January, per litre. This is the figure that answers “does it just feel like prices keep rising?”
| Fuel | Net since January | Adjustments | Up / down |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diesel | +₱52.85 | 26 | 17 / 9 |
| Gasoline | +₱51.32 | 26 | 20 / 6 |
| Kerosene | +₱45.64 | 26 | 15 / 11 |
Diesel is ₱52.85/L higher than it started the year, gasoline ₱51.32/L higher. For a public-utility jeepney burning roughly 30 litres a day, the diesel figure alone is ₱1,585.50 a day against a fare that did not move.
Philippine pump prices move on a schedule, and once you know it the weekly news coverage becomes predictable:
Mid-week adjustments do happen when the world market moves sharply or when fuel taxes change. They are the exception; Monday-announce, Tuesday-effective is the rule.
The Philippines imports nearly all of its refined fuel, and the Oil Deregulation Act of 1998 leaves pricing to the companies rather than to a regulator. So the local price is essentially the regional benchmark plus freight, duties, excise tax, VAT and margin. Three things move it week to week:
